The aim of this project, organised by Bradford College in conjunction with Bradford Youth Development Partnership was to engage a group of young adults on a programme focusing on race and identity within Britain. Key topics would include the social construction of race and identity, stereotypes and discrimination and a look at individual’s personal experiences. It would also include the students researching and presenting on a known case study such as the Stephen Lawrence murder, and a visit to Liverpool to look at its history in terms of the slave trade. The group consisted of 12 young adults of mixed gender and ethnicity representing a number of communities and neighborhoods across the district.
