The Death of Recycling

In this important essay, Paul Palmer argues that traditional recycling has outlived its usefulness. What we really need is a system for designing and manufacturing products with perpetual re-use in mind. We need to redesign the function of products, not just the materials they are made of. Paul Palmer argues this is the true Zero Waste approach (Zero Waste as a Redesign Theory).

When asked at a White House presentation about clean nuclear as an option the architect William McDonough replied:

"I'm a big fan of clean nuclear power, and of fusion, I think we should spend trillions of dollars capturing fusion energy immediately. And thank God we have our nuclear reactor exactly where we want it, 93 million miles away-just 8 minutes-and it's tireless."
